Q: What is MEA?
A: MEA is a set of tools and code libraries. It target to advanced MAGIC101
SDK developer who want to create more complex (than today's common mobile
games) titles. It provides advanced graphics, audio, and network engines
for certain vary game types (for example, 3d shoot, 2d scrolling shoot,
tile based RPG, SLG¡).
Q: What is the relation between MAGIC101 SDK and
MEA?
A: MEA is based on MAGIC101. MAGIC101 provides default media function
for MEA. MAGIC101 is a common game engine; it can used in most kinds of
games. MEA has more pertinence to certain kinds of games.
Q: Why MEA? Why not include it into MAGIC101?
A: Our main purpose of creating MAGIC101 is to speed up developers on
making nice games. MAGIC101 SDK provides unify API interface for mobile
games, so we don't want it lose universality. We know that only with MAGIC101
SDK, developers still need do a lot of repeated work for certain kind
of games. For example, all 2d RPG/SLG game need a fast and hi-quality
tile map drawing system and tools. MEA is designed for reduce these kind
of works for developers.
Q: So what capabilities will MEA provide to developer?
A: On the beginning, MEA will include follow modules: 1) A Voxel based
out-door 3d graphics engine; 2) A sprits based 2.5d in-door/out-door engine,
like Doom, KXRacer does; 3) A tile based 2d map system for RPG/SLG games;
4) A 2D scrolling shooting game engine.
Q: How about later?
A: We will continue updating MEA. We'll add more capability what can really
help developers.
Q: When will we get MEA?
A: First demo version is planed to open at June.
Q: How about Licensing MEA?
A: Yes, as you considered, MEA is not free. We take a licensing
fee from developers use it. Later, when MEA demo come out, you'll get
more detail about that.
